The pysanky pictured on this page are not folk pysanky–those are included in the section of traditional regional pysanky.  Instead, these are pysanky written by friends and acquaintances of Ivan Balan, and given to him as gifts.  Many are variations on traditional designs, but with altered color schemes or more intricate details.

Several of these pysanky were photographed on their sides because they were never emptied, and the contents have settled to one side.
