Zamahora

Замагора

Zamahora was settled by Pokuttians who were being persecuted by the Polish authorities. The name of the village comes form its location behind (“za”) the mountain Mahora.

The pysanky below were photographed at the Museum of the Pysanka, and were written by I.O. Semchuk.  These pysanky show the classic findings of pysanky from this village: multicolored dots and animal and human figures.

Three of the pysanky have second photos to help appreciate the entire design.
