The third is a more complex design from Pokuttia; it has what Manko and Chaika describe as an oblique (косий) cross, “which is often drawn as and intersected letter S or a straight line turning into a swastika.” This oblique cross is thought to be a female/goddess symbol. The joining of a straight cross (which represents the male god of the earth) with an oblique one represents male and femal union, the driving force of life
