These pysanky are modern examples of traditional Ukrainian motifs and designs.  While incorporating traditional symbols, they have finer lines and brighter colors than traditional eggs (which were made by amateurs with natural dyes). Most are from Eastern Ukraine, having been purchased (often from the creators) in the open market along the Andriyivskiy Uzviz (Андріївський Узвіз).
