There are several ways to find or create new colors for your pysanky.  The pages in this sub-section discuss how to mix pastel dyes, and how to mix new colors from existing dyes.

The “recipes” are of three different types: recipes for mixing small amounts of dye to use for spot dyeing; recipes for mixing full batches of new colors, and dye sequences that may be used in “layering” to achieve unique colors.
